About Frost Valley

Frost Valley YMCA is one of America's first summer camps, established in 1901. Today, it provides four seasons of outdoor, experiential and educational opportunities on its 6,000 acres in the heart of the Catskill Mountain Preserve. The camp runs events each weekend for a variety of organizations, so we will not be the only group on the property. However, the camp is quite large and we will be centralized in a couple of private locations. We have reserved an entire lodge for our guests so that everyone can stay with us, without worry, and enjoy a relaxing weekend together. Frost Valley has a lot to keep us busy, too. The grounds feature a lake (with canoeing), a creek, apple orchards, an observatory, a raptor center, a maple syrup shack, hiking trails, and dozens of activities led by camp staff each day. Upon arrival we'll receive a schedule, but options will likely include a hayride, hikes, archery, arts and crafts, apple cidering, boating, ropes course challenges, board games, mountain boarding, climbing, stargazing, etc. You will have the choice to participate in the activities offered by the camp during non-wedding hours, or you can just stroll in the woods, relax by the fire in our common room, or play games with your friends.

We were very fortunate to find Frost Valley, as their values are right in line with our own. Frost Valley strives to embody the core values of caring, diversity, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, responsibility, stewardship, and community. The organization raises funds throughout the year for camperships that cover the costs of camp for children and families who would not otherwise be able to attend. Additionally, in 1975, Frost Valley became the nation’s first camp to offer children with kidney disease a chance to experience traditional summer camp while receiving their vital dialysis treatments. Through a full-service, on-site dialysis unit and a well-trained, conscientious staff, dozens of campers are able to go to camp every summer, despite their health issues. Special attention is given to the individual medical and developmental needs of each child, and treatment schedules are arranged to allow for maximum participation in camp activities. We can’t think of a better place to formalize our partnership while surrounded by our closest family and friends.
